The Ashok Tree Foundation provide comprehensive services to communities living in extreme poverty, to drive human development while reducing human vulnerability. The comprehensive services are structured around schools, community outreach and community projects.
School: The Sita Devi School was built to provide nursery & primary school education for children aged 4-10. 2013 saw the opening of the school in Palliapattu, we now have 7 teachers and 1 aide educating over 115 children aged 4-10 across 7 classrooms, expansion plans include the development of a Secondary School. We provide a holistic approach to their education, incorporating yoga, meditation, hygiene, nutrition, natural health, english & hindi lessons into the standard Indian national curriculum.
Community Outreach & Community Projects – We provide first aid services, monthly health camps and women’s wellness clinics for the village of Palliapattu.
We also provide specific services to communities in need closer to home, by offering community classes – yoga & meditation – in London to those suffering with mental or physical disabilities or simply for those who do not have the financial means to acquire directly. We want to ensure that everyone who needs it has access to yoga & meditation. We work with local communities, businesses and Yogiville Gurukul Teachers to provide classes and locations at no fee to the participant. Teachers volunteer their time and locations are also donated for the community class purpose. Online classes are to be provided in the very near future!
