“Practicing Himalayan Hatha Yoga with Yogi Ashokananda is unlike any other mainstream yoga experience. The special sequencing, detailed instructions and mindful engagement of the body are like a moving meditation that brings consciousness and freedom to every part of the body. Learning this practice from Yogi is such a privilege which I am deeply grateful for.”

“During the COVID-19 period, I started to practice everyday online lessons with Yogi Ashokananda and this became the most influential period for me in terms of practice and self-study. Himalayan Hatha Yoga, Prana Kriya Yoga, Pranayama, and Atma Kriya Meditation work on the physical level, mind, and emotions and help us to understand our true nature and find inner peace.”

“All of Yogi’s teachings and techniques are authentic and have led me to live a more aware and focused life. I am very grateful for all the hard work and compassion Yogi puts into all of his classes. He has a wealth of experience and I look forward to many more years of his teachings.”

“The principles which I have learned from Yogi Ashokananda have become a part of my daily routine. In fact, within minutes of waking up I am practising kriyas I learned from him and this continues throughout the day until I rest at night. Authentic yoga practice is very different to what you can see on Instagram these days. From him, I learned how to live the real life of a yogi and I could no longer imagine any other way to live.”

“Himalayan Hatha Yoga was the first training I did with Yogi Ashokananda and it literally rocketed me into the next chapter of my life!! I had previously practised many styles of yoga and I was already a yoga teacher, but when I started Himalayan Hatha Yoga, I remember thinking “So this is what yoga really is…” On completing the training, I began finding the path in life that is right for me. I don’t believe that there are many teachers like Yogi Ashokananda, and I am blessed that I can continue to learn from him.”

“It’s difficult to put the impact of Yogi Ashokananda’s teachings in words as it opens a whole new world to a dedicated practitioner. The only way to get a glimpse of it is to practise with the teacher himself and feel the transformation. Looking back to my practice before I met Yogi, I can say that I’ve never been so close to the authentic practice as I am now. My state of mind, body and energy are in complete alignment. Not only practising the asana aspect of yoga but living yoga is a gift from God, which becomes available with Yogi’s guidance, who kindly shares his knowledge with us. Yogi’s teachings go so much deeper than calming the mind, connecting to yourself or building the strength of the body, but of course, you’ll get those benefits along the way too.”

“I attended Yogi Ashokananda’s Prana Kriya class for the first time recently, having had some experience with Iyengar yoga. Invited by a member of my family, I went to the class uncertain as to what to expect. To begin with, the class seemed disarmingly simple: the regulation of simple movements and breath: quite easily followed, it seemed. The instructions were lucid and encouraging. Gradually, imperceptibly, the nature of the class altered. A reorientation took place, looking at something I had hardly considered before: the use of breath relative to movement. The way the guide subtly took the class into more complex attention was absorbing: sometimes his manner was playful – imitating the panting of a dog, for instance – but the purpose became clear in practice, and you were absorbed into larger and more difficult patterns that distanced you from your surroundings, and became consuming. Yogi Ashokananda is beguiling and authoritative, an expert teacher. Deep into the class, feeling and thought changed, as you were taken quietly somewhere different, led to feel differently. I would recommend following this guide very much: the end of the class impressed strongly, in physical and emotional terms, and beyond that. Even in a short period, you felt you had learnt a lot, and were enlivened, and could imagine something of how much further you might go.”

“Since starting my work with Yogi Ashokananda I have seen profound wonderful changes both physically and emotionally in my system. While yoga can improve every student’s physical body and increase flexibility few teachers can encourage their students to teach themselves the way Yogiji can. Through our work I have increased my confidence and my ability to focus. Most importantly, working with Yogiji I discovered yoga is not merely exercise or a discipline, it really can be an internal resource where we may easily find refuge and answers to many of the challenges and questions life brings”.

“I have been practising yoga through various different schools and methods for a numbers of years. I initially attended one of Yogiji’s classes looking for a more holistic and traditional form of teaching…. and have found exactly that. I have been at times surprised and amazed by Yogiji’s method and manner, a simple, yet fluid and adaptable path, he has a way of bringing a class together and uniting everyone. Through strong practice or a quiet joke, the ebb and flow through a class finds it’s rhythm, through the room, through my body and through a quietening mind, Yogiji knows exactly when to push, and when to relax, when to lighten the mood, or crack a whip….in essence and from my experience, he is a Yogi, and I feel grateful and blessed to have him as a teacher and friend”.

“Yogi Ashokananda has been instrumental in supporting me to deepen my yoga practice. His teaching has enabled a lot of positive change in my life. It is extremely important for me to try to remain healthy and strong both physically and emotionally in order to meet the demands of my eldest son who has cerebral palsy. Yogi’s guidance is subtle and loving. He is a dedicated teacher who really cares. I feel stronger, brighter, happier and even slimmer as a result. I am forever grateful to him and his teachers for all of the above”.

“Yogi Ashokananda’s teaching is direct yet gentle, profound and meaningful, as he effortlessly relays his expertise and knowledge. The yoga itself is challenging yet inspiring, allowing your body to cleanse, strengthen and heal. Ashokananda Yoga is a complete system of care for your entire body, one that can be applied to the skeletal system, muscles and ligaments and inner organs. And you also learn how to heal certain ailments with specific yoga asanas and breath. What is different about Yogiji’s teaching is that you experience the effects of his teaching without an overkill of words or philosophy. A few words sum everything up – they reach into the soul and spirit, time flies, a sign perhaps, that we have slipped out of our usual consciousness into another state away from our daily thoughts and chattering mind. In a world today where all too much is focused on the outer before the inner world is tended to, Yogiji’s teaching comes as a much needed remedy. I have been in this field for 17 years and of all the wonderful teachers I have met along my path, my intuition and instinct knows that we are in the company of someone who has a unique, authentic and deeply spiritual as well as human resonance, a quality I have not found before expressed in such a simple and grounded way. I am forever grateful for his presence and deeply honoured to have him as a friend.”

“I have known Yogi Ashokananda for many years, and practiced yoga according to his guidance and inspiration. I have found his way so clear and perfect for my Odissi-dance exercises, emphasizing so greatly on breathing which really helps to tone my muscles in the right way and find the dancing flow. It helped me overcome injuries and stresses, which are part of the dance career. I highly support and recommend him and his yoga to everyone.”
